With Support from MSD RTC Fellowship Program, PAWEM is implementing a Community driven Climate Change and Health project with a focus on Health risk associated with climate Change like Heat.Regardless of Chikwawa District facing yearly droughts,floods and Clyclones ,youth involvement in decision-making is limited.This project aims at Building community resilience to climate change and health risk with a focus on youth,women,disable people and elderly involvement.

PAWEM,is one of the Trusted Local NGOs in Malawi that operates in rural areas on Malawi.The Trust extends to Government recognition and involvement when dealing with issues that concern Patients in Malawi.As such,PAWEM Champions Community Advocacy empowerment and Involvement on issues that affect their Health. One of Core Values in PAWEM is Community Engagement and Involvement in implementation of Health services and Research Programs. With Such Recognition, PAWEM took part in Parliamentary Health Committee dialogue on Drug theft . Through this Representation to Poor Marginalized Communities of Malawi,PAWEM contributed Community based approaches that can help to mitigate Drug theft issues in Malawi which contributes to 30% of the total Health Budget.One of the approaches is to use Community Based Organisation to be Watchdogs and also to empower and amend whistleblower protection policy so that it can attract Communities Support.
